Our 2011-2012 Mandate

The Windermere Word aims to encourage the curiosity, skepticism, and rationality of critical thinking, as well as promoting inclusion, creativity, and diversity in the school and beyond. Although these goals may sound extremely difficult to accomplish--and they are--members the Word are working hard towards achieving them.

Every month, we...

-- Determine issue content based on the ratio of 70% news to 30% entertainment.

-- Provide fact-based information on school and community events, environmental and humanitarian issues, and current events.

-- Provide an outlet for students to voice their opinions.

-- Take an approach which differs from mainstream media outlets that disseminate inaccurate information and propaganda.

-- Encourage students to participate through the use of website, polls, contests, and other interactive tools.
